A new collaborative partnership has been established among Kathmandu University Technical Training Center (KU-TTC), Sums Private Limited (SUMS), and Cogknit Oy (COGKNIT) to develop and conduct practically-oriented domestic and international skilling programs and innovation projects. The agreement, signed today, brings together expertise from academia, industry, and digital innovation to foster a more entrepreneurial and skilled workforce in Nepal.
The agreement involves KU-TTC, SUMS, and COGKNIT, headquartered in Helsinki, Finland. The primary goal of this partnership is to enhance skills development through a community-driven approach that addresses both local and global societal challenges. The initiative aims to build a digital innovation ecosystem that nurtures talents, fosters innovation, and meets industry needs. By combining the strengths of the three organizations, the collaboration seeks to create a more innovative and entrepreneurial society in Nepal, contributing to meaningful societal impacts both locally and globally.
The partnership will focus on developing and conducting skilling programs and innovation projects that cater to a diverse range of participants, including learners, companies, academia, and governmental and non-governmental agencies. The collaboration aims to create conditions that facilitate the growth of an entrepreneurial ecosystem, strengthening academic expertise and offerings. Under the partnership, the parties will jointly conduct a ‘Need Assessment’ to identify the requirements for programs and projects. They will collaboratively design and implement courses and programs utilizing COGKNIT’s digital platform, KU-TTC’s training facilities in Dhulikhel, and SUMS’s expertise in digital services. The collaboration will also explore future programs and projects for the wider Kathmandu University community and its ecosystem.
The agreement takes effect immediately and will remain in force until all parties mutually agree to terminate it. The partnership represents a significant step towards leveraging digital platforms and academic expertise to enhance skills development in Nepal, providing participants with practical and innovative learning experiences. This groundbreaking initiative promises to pave the way for future collaborations and innovations, setting a new standard for skilling programs and digital innovation in Nepal.
